Privacy Policy

This is an early draft. The wording will be reviewed by a solicitor before Handled is launched more widely.

Who we are

Handled is a service built for UK tradespeople — plumbers, electricians, builders, decorators and others — to help them reply to enquiries, send quotes and collect reviews, all through WhatsApp.

What information we collect

When you sign up, we collect the following through the get-started form:

  • Your first name
  • Your business name
  • Your trade type
  • Your WhatsApp number
  • Your email address
  • Which Handled products you are interested in

We may also receive messages you send to us via WhatsApp as part of using the service, including voice notes, photos and text messages.

How we use your information

  • WhatsApp and SMS: We use your WhatsApp number to receive job-related messages and to send you automated responses, quote previews and delivery confirmations. We use SMS to contact your customers on your behalf as part of the service you have signed up for.
  • Email: We use your email address to send you updates about your account and, if you use Handled Quotes, to deliver quotes to your customers on your behalf.
  • Service delivery: We use your details to set up and run the Handled products you have chosen.

We do not sell your data to third parties.

Who we share data with

To deliver the service, we share data with a small number of third-party providers:

  • Supabase — secure database and authentication, hosted in the EU/UK region
  • Twilio — WhatsApp and SMS delivery
  • Resend — email delivery
  • Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI (Whisper) — used to process voice notes and generate quote and post content
  • Facebook/Instagram — if you use Handled Reputation, posts are published to your connected social accounts

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy. We only share the minimum information needed to operate the service.

How long we keep your data

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. Customer phone numbers collected as part of the service are deleted after 30 days in line with our GDPR obligations.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data. To make a request, email us at hello@handledfortrades.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.

Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies to keep you logged in and to make the service work. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service develops. If we make significant changes, we will let you know by email. Continued use of Handled after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
